Taiwanese-Canadian Countertenor TIMOTHY WONG has been praised by audiences and reviewers of “unleashing a full range of power from forte to an exquisite and delicate high note”, and a “personable young artist with a fine gift”.
He started his career in Canada singing roles including Ramiro (La finta giardiniera), Harry (Albert Herring), and Arnalta (L’incoronazione di Poppea). After moving to Berlin in 2005, Timothy maintained a busy schedule singing with Bachakademie Stuttgart, Kammerchor Stuttgart, Vokalquintett Berlin, Vokalakademie Berlin, to name a few. He has since appeared at major venues and festivals in Germany, France, Italy, and Switzerland.
Timothy also maintains a vibrant private piano and voice studio, in English, German, Mandarin, and Cantonese. He strongly believes in giving all students the equal opportunity to learn music, and follows the philosophy passionately in his studio. As a voice teacher, Timothy teaches a variety of singers with various backgrounds, age, and physical health. In approaching singing mentally and scientifically, he has been able to work together with ENTs in rehabilitating from voice traums, and bring shy singers out of their cocoons. Timothy concentrates on the classical, musical theatre, and pop genres. He is also wellversed in both the Royal Conservatory of Music (Canada) and the ABRSM (U.K.) syllabuses.
I would love to hear from you!
